ABOUT THE CITY OF CALICO ROCK

The One and Only

This is the only place on earth where you'll find yourself in Calico Rock . We are located in Izard County in northcentral Arkansas along the banks of the world-famous White River and Scenic Highway 5. It's a beautiful drive and an even better place to live.

This Place Matters

Calico Rock, Arkansas was incorporated in 1903 on the banks of the world-famous White River, offering some of the best Rainbow Trout fishing in the world. We neighbor the Ozark National Forest, are a short drive from the Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail, Blanchard Springs Caverns, and the Big Creek Golf Course. We are an outdoor paradise. Our community relies heavily on tourism, but we are proud of the manufacturing and service industries that employ our residents. Our team is available to answer your questions and help you make Calico Rock your home, whether for a few hours or a lifetime.

Our Services

Our city staff provide water and sewer utilities, street, parks and recreation, and support our citizens every day. We contract with the Izard County Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement services for our city. We partner with the Calico Rock Community Foundation to provide business and economic development, visitor center services, and strategic planning for our community, including supporting our award-winning Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center.

Our community has a rural access hospital with emergency room and helipad, a modern airport, economic center, K-12 public school, United State Post Office, small manufacturing plants, and ample retail businesses and restaurants.

With all of these conveniences, we remain a small community made up of people who care about one another and who work together to make our small town a great place to live.
